8 years later and we realized the board at the ICA and Qazwini himself were both snakes. Both in the faith of Islam to make a dollar, zero transparency on their ends. Today the ICA is silent to the Palestinian genocide, careful as if they’re being watched by the Feds. Qazwini on the other hand is a business minded imam, silent against exposing the LGBTQ agenda in the community while even backing the mayor who is silent against the attack in our community. Qazwini calls it taqiya, but only because he’s a political pawn for the left. Brothers and sisters always do your homework and beware of the Islamic institute and scholar that seek other than the guidance of their community. Today we filter them out with the institutes and imams that are silent about the Palestinian genocide and those silent about the LGBTQ agenda in our community. DISCIPLINING THE NAFS (SOUL) Our mind always ask us to do good things and stay away from sins and our nafs stop us from obeying our mind. It asks us to commit sins. If you have developed a stronger mind that allows you to defeat the nafs, the mind will always be the victor and the nafs will be defeated. But sometimes it's the other way around. When the nafs defeat the mind, it's not that the mind will go and rest. The nafs is like a vampire. When the nafs defeats the mind,it doesn't just kill the mind but it gets the mind to work for the nafs. The mind becomes a culprit. Then the mind begins to help the nafs achieve it's desires. That's why Amir al Muminin (as) says, "How many minds are captivated by controlling nafs." When the nafs takes control, the mind is paralysed. Not only it's paralysed but it will begin to serve the nafs. For example, the nafs will say "I would like to steal." The mind will think of the best and most deceitful ways to steal. The nafs wants to commit adultery. The mind will think of the most deceptive ways and the most secretive ways to commit adultery. The mind will become a slave to the nafs and it will obey it's commands. Just like an intoxicant. When you drink alcohol, alcohol consumes your mind and it impairs your judgement. The nafs has the same sort of effect over the mind. If the nafs takes over the mind and impairs it's judgement, the mind can't think straight. In another saying Imam Ali (as) says, "The greatest enemy of the mind is the nafs and it's desires."The Quran states that the best road to paradise,the road to happiness and the road to stability in your life, bringing joy and pleasure in your life is by controlling your nafs. Put the nafs on a leash and don't allow the nafs to put you on a leash The Quran states that one who fears Allah and restrains his nafs will be in paradise. That's the way to paradise He who controls his nafs wins at the end of the day and he who lets his nafs run wild, untamed, undisciplined..he will lose. If the nafs isn't disciplined, no matter how much you work on your mind and body, it won't help. Your knowledge won't help you if your nafs is undisciplined. If you don't have any outer enemy,be sure that you have an inner enemy and if fighting an outer enemy will take you a couple of years, fighting your inner enemy will take a full lifetime. This enemy wants to drag you towards hellfire. This enemy is called nafs. Judge your nafs. Is it good or bad? Judge your emotions. Is it good or bad? Some hadiths say, "Always be suspicious of your nafs" Don't say, "I have a good nafs,I'm a good person and my end result is in a good place." A mu'min shouldn't let his nafs act the way it wants but the way his mind wants. Imam al-Kadhim says, "He is not from us who doesn't judge his nafs and hold it accountable." Hold your nafs accountable. Where sort of direction is it going? Is it taking us towards heaven or hell? Is it taking us towards Allah's satisfaction or is it taking us in completely different direction?
